OMP 2014!

  In the way, way back of 1998, when President Clinton was busy decorating
  a blue dress on one of his interns, the hot new technology was MP3s, the
  Denver Broncos actually WON the Super Bowl, and I was still chasing 
  after mobs on 3K as a Necromancer, the first OMP took place in 
  Washington, DC.
 
  16 years later, the last annual Official MUD Party will take place 
  this summer. Yep, the last.
 
 
  What?      : OMP #18
  Huh?       : Official MUD Party, an adult gathering of 3K & 3S folks
  When?      : Thursday July 31st - Saturday August 2nd
  Where?     : Comfort Inn Romulus Michigan (recently renovated - big time)
  How much?  : $10 a head at the door Saturday afternoon
  Room rate? : $70/night King or 2 Queens ($95 for a King whirlpool suite)
               Includes a hot breakfast each morning, internet & shuttle
  What else? : Friends, fun & prizes to be had!
  How?       : Type 'omp' and follow the yellow brick road

  Thursday - Saturday?
  Yes, though if you can only come one day, make it Saturday.
 
  Will there be food & drink?
  We will be providing lots of snacks, but food & drink will be your
  responsibility.  The great news is that this year not only do we have
  the common room 24x7 from Thursday AM through Sunday AM (would that be
  24x3?), we have free reign to bring in any food & drink we want.  So,
  enough of those hotels that have soaked us in the past.  Now (as long
  as it's kept out of the public areas), we can do whatever we want!
 
  "Adult gathering?"  That's new.
  Yup, this one's for the big kids only.  You must be 21 years or older
  to ride this ride.
 
  "Last?" What gives? 
  There are a few reasons really, and they aren't necessarily all bad, but
  they have all been painting a picture the past few years.  Attendance has
  been kinda static (both for number and the same individuals for the past
  few years), it costs more money to put on an OMP than we recoup and 
  finally, too much of the "same old stuff" just gets a bit stale.  We 
  feel this decision will help recharge the batteries, making any future 
  OMPs better, faster, stronger.
 
  Will there ever be another "official" OMP?
  If it makes sense to do so, and the event would do justice to the
  hallowed term "OMP", absolutely.
 
  Can there be any "unofficial" OMPs?
  Of course, and we'll even help you promote them.
 
  What does this all mean for 3K & 3S?
  Nothing really, because this was always viewed as one way to compliment
  the social nature of the games.  The games and your friends aren't
  going anywhere.
