Legal Status of The Marble Group
General
The Marble Group is a legal incorporated entity within the state of Michigan, USA. The business that The Marble Group partakes in, namely the running of an online game, does not qualify for non-profit status, and as such, The Marble Group is a "for profit" organization complete with shareholders. The term "for profit" is a bit of a misnomer, however, since no one gets paid a salary and all of TMG's income goes directly into an account to pay ISP fees, OMP fees, advertising, and all marble/server/game related expenses. It is important to note that The Marble Group owns the marble machine (the machine the game runs on) and all software that dwells upon the marble machine, including but not limited to the mud driver code, area code, and all aspects of 3Kingdoms and 3Scapes. You can read 'help vaf' on how you can aid the game's operating fund. (These monetary contributions are not referred to as donations for legal reasons as well. Since we are not (and can not be) a non-profit corporation we cannot refer to them as donations.)
