Gentech

🛰 science

Research your own powers from a menu of experiments, risking failure for a shot at fully customizing your abilities.

# join: Open from level 5 — seek out a Gentech soldier to be sponsored into the ranks.

You’re one of the survivors of a war that hasn’t happened yet — a full-scale conflict fought generations ahead, in a future your people are trying to change by recruiting reinforcements now. Every soldier you bring back gets folded into that eventual fight.

What sets you apart from other soldiers is how you’re built: part deliberate genetic rewrite, part machinery woven straight into your cells. Nobody assigns you a fixed set of powers. Instead you research whatever ability catches your interest, whenever you like, and your odds of success track your accumulated experience: put in the time, and an experiment is far more likely to succeed than to backfire.

That freedom cuts both ways. A failed experiment can simply do nothing, but it can also cost you a power you already had, or worse, in rare unlucky cases. Nobody hands you guardrails — that’s the deal you signed up for.
